The war in Gaza ended 6 to 9 months ago. It’s been pure genocide—a straight-up slaughter-and-starvation campaign—since then. Under no circumstances should anyone pretend that Netanyahu is still fighting a “war” just so that Trump can get a photo op and say he “ended” it.

Do better, corporate media.

Trump’s Gaza peace plan does not resolve all the issues, @yair-rosenberg.bsky.social argues. "But Trump is counting on the force of his personality, the exhaustion of the parties, and the momentum created by the initial agreement to ultimately end the war entirely."
The Gaza War Isn’t Over Yet. But It Could Be Soon.
Trump may have ended the Gaza hostage crisis. Can he end the Gaza war?

It's so important to nip the framing of this reporting in the bud right now.

Don't accept the narrative that Trump and his team only just started discussing invoking the Insurrection Act. January 6 happened because his White House was in conversation with radicals about what it'd take to invoke it.
Trump administration officials seriously discussing invoking Insurrection Act, sources say
A decision isn't expected to be imminent, one source said, but debate within the administration has shifted recently to more deeply exploring how and when the act might be invoked.

Schiff: "If a president in secret can put names on a list and kill them, then there is no war power still retained by Congress, and there's no check on an executive who may drag us into another war."

🚨There goes the last of Governor Pritzker’s fucks. 🪦
He took that threat of being arrested to heart… and the people of Chicago are marching in the streets because the Chicago mayor and their governor have their backs. ✊🏼

“Have you given any more thought to suspending habeas corpus?”

TRUMP: “Suspending who?” 🤷🏼

Aaand scene.

Imagine knowing – being absolutely sure – that when you die, 65 or 70% of the country and the world will celebrate your death like nothing they've ever celebrated anything before.

It's been over 9 months since the Palisades and Eaton Fires tore through Los Angeles. We asked for federal support, but we haven’t heard a word from the White House.

Not a single offer.

Is this what leadership looks like? Abandoning the American people when they call for help?

The Oregon national guard general says if the Oregon National guard were to be deployed they would be instructed under his leadership to protect the protesters not ICE.

“Good morning. What can I do for you? Another photograph? Sure, happy to oblige. Now, kindly buzz off, some of us have work to do.”
The bees in our garden are working late into the year as our Cosmos keeps flowering.
This Bumble Bee with it’s fluffy yellow back arched, looks like it has found plenty to feed on at the centre of a purple-and-white streaked Cosmos flower as it crouches with its face covered in yellow pollen. The bulbous black eyes seem to look straight into the lens as the bee’s legs cling on to the bloom and its antennae are alert overhead.
Twiggy brown remains of other plants snake over the flower to the right and the sun-drenched background is of green leaves.

If Chicago wanted to make those Texas soldiers feel at home, they'd wait for a blizzard, then turn off all the power and go to Cancun for the weekend.

In Trump's America, you're an order of magnitude more likely to get attacked on the street by ICE and the National Guard than by any foreign gang member.
