If you have a Whole Foods nearby, absolutely try the Lewis Road Creamery butter, it was butter #17 for me and it knocked me back on my feet. :)

If you like that era, have you read Richard Stumpf’s War, Mutiny, and Revolution in the German Navy? It’s the WWI diaries of a low-ranking seaman and it is one of the most remarkable historical documents i’ve ever read.

My partner made fun of me when I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn because I had no problem running straight at the robot dinosaurs but would run away from the wild hogs before i figured out what was going on. Never trust a hog!

People sometimes try to use “ah, you eat pigs but you WON’T eat a dog” as if it’s some kind of clever gotcha, and man, I dunno, dogs usually aren’t scheming to eat us when we turn our backs as a *default*

I bought that mug specifically for drinking from when i interviewed people in office to gauge their reactions to our very silly team. Now it’s my partner’s favorite mig because she grew up in England and West Ham was her city’s rival team and she loves it as clowning on them 😹

“Bookshelf” 😹 that one’s just my Roman/Greek/Indian mythology, geology, and culinary history. Out of sight is a double-stacked entire wall of books, and if that one horrifies you, then this one in my office will really make you scream 😹😹😹

I got so tired of people complaining about pineapple on pizza i started saying “okay but i only eat pizza with pineapple on it” any time someone suggested a group order. It never fails to get me A Look.
