My real world job is best represented by The Phantom Menace.
Movies are your best bet for the lush gothic romance vibes! Jane Eyre, Withering Heights, Stoker, The Handmaiden, Crimson Peak all come to mind.

The gothic thing is extremely rare in television! Parts of House of the Dragon qualify, though there’s a lot of other stuff going on in that show. Possibly The Borgias, though I haven’t watched that one, so I can’t speak to the quality.

For queer romantic sci-fi, Sense8. Lots of big ideas in that one that may scratch the itch, though the modern setting and soundtrack keep it from that lush gothic feel of iwtv.

Evil is a weird, dark, sexy, funny show that examines religion and the way it intersects with race and gender in just about every episode.

The first season toes the line of being a bit normie cause they were on network tv, but from season 2 they were streaming and really let their freak flag fly.

For campy southern vampires, True Blood. Modern setting not period, and it lacks the poetic language of iwtv and examinations of race/gender/sexuality, but it’s still lots of supernatural drama and romance.

If say someone had their eyes gouged out and burned, they could remove the eyes from corpses and put them in their eye sockets until they degenerated and needed to be replaced with a new set of eyes. But if someone had their tongue cut out, it would not naturally grow back.

While hair and nails regrow, body parts don’t, though they could be reattached.

Just to pull a random example out of thin air, if someone had their hands cut off they could be later be returned and reattached to their arms.
