Agree. Bit of a wash? They gotta test the market before the new format and increased spend show results. Owners have to go all in now to get the payoff.

MLS Not leaving any room to prove their theory of the case before needing a new deal owners better pour dollars on those rosters to bring in eyeballs asap.

Attendance will dip during the transition, but better soccer fixes that and fixes the media value if the bet pays off. That requires $$spending on the roster.

Owners already sank billions into this thing, the Apple deal didn’t land, and they’ve basically wasted the Messi jolt. Everyone knows the politics: some owners won’t want to spend, and nothing happens without a new CBA, so the next year and a half will be slow and messy.

The calendar shift means better players, better loans, and no missing internationals. Yeah some weather will suck. I’m a believer but let’s be honest MLS is heading into a real stress test. The owners gotta spend big again hoping for a media pay day.
