I’m here to read books and pet cats, and I’m all outta — actually, no, I have plenty of both. Excellent.

I also make software and opine about everything. I only get paid for one of those things, though.
“Maybe we should just burn this house down” – me, eventually, every time

I was promised that the robots would look like a young Jude Law

Putting me in the class where I was sure to be bored stiff was probably correct in that I was far less likely to be a behavioral problem under those conditions, but it sure didn’t set me up to be an even halfway decent student. I got through school on being good at reading + anxiety.

I taught myself to read, with an assist from Teddy Ruxpin, before kindergarten, but I do remember the other kids being taught phonics as I daydreamed or doodled or whatever (they insisted on splitting up me and my twin brother, and put him in the class with the other kids who could already read).

A vote in the future is not enough. As a constituent, and a contractor on the verge of furlough, I would still urge you to reconsider capitulating at this juncture. I have every reason to want the government to reopen soon, but more than that, I want people not to lose their access to healthcare

As a constituent, and a federal contractor staring down furloughs, I would urge you to hold the line on extending the ACA credits — now is not the time to capitulate, particularly not for the mere promise of a vote later — and what is that promise worth? People need help now, not a maybe, later.
