Hope is extremely annoying because it demands things of you. It’s exhausting, but I will say no one ever got to a better place by sinking into despair and just staying there.

It can seem pollyannaish to imagine wildly positive futures at times like this, but that's when they're most powerful - a light to guide our way out of the dark.

Fascism wins when we can't remember what a better world looks like. When it doesn't feel possible. Nurturing our dreams is resistance.

If it helps, about 2 years ago my therapist told me that most men like this don’t actually grow they just try to basically learn from the last relationship. So they’re not really changing, just guessing everyone wants the same thing. Still makes me 😑 when my daughters tell stories though lol

It is ALWAYS like this. I couldn’t even get maternity photos, because it was “such a waste of money” and then got made fun of for liking pink and glitter and was told “I’ll never go to Disney with you”… guess who looooves Disney and glitter and pink with their new wife, and takes lots of pics? 😂

It is not even a little lol

Watching them spin this as an active war is kind of breaking my brain a little bit.
