Gentle rain and temperatures above freezing
Short dog doesn’t mind, she’d be happy if I spent every afternoon lying around on the floor

Happy Solstice! Bunnies are now wearing their white winter coats. Wildlife spotting tip: critters usually don’t run very far into the woods when they see you. If you’re calm and patient you can sometimes spot them sitting very still nearby. In the summer this guy is brown and would be invisible

The number one movie when I was 10, you say? Works for me!

PSA: Your auntie spent WEEKS knitting those socks for you, because she loves you and thinks of you often. IDC if you never wear them, you need to tell her they’re the best present ever.

The boys are staying inside the barrier islands to fish in this high wind. before actually seeing this, every explanation of trawling I‘d seen was created by anti-foodies.
They look like a kid in a pet store swishing the guppy dipper blindfolded. It’s amazing that they catch anything at all

I have just won a major award from Mama Kwan’s restaurant

Tiny Chiwa is feeling better, and her hair is even starting to grow back. It’s been an exhausting few months of pills and shampoo and new allergy free food. Wife deserves a medal for all the extra grooming work

Heads up. It’s early holiday travel season and some of you need to be reminded:
It is not only dangerous to pass a school bus, it is illegal. In some states, even when the lights aren’t flashing.
We have cameras, we have a direct line to local police, and we have fierce protective instincts for kids

This is me, trying to take pictures of the eagles. They’re feeding on a deer carcass by the shore. Adult and juvenile bald eagle, with ravens standing by waiting for their turn.
Kids on the bus tell me the eagle’s name is Arlo.
(Photo NOT taken while driving, I promise)

I miss the mushroom dude. These are growing in my backyard. Edible; and the guide says they “neutralize the enzyme that renders alcohol nontoxic “ …so, Perfect for that workday potluck lunch?

This lovely was a six inch rooted cutting this time last year. I didn’t expect to love her so much, AND she smells wonderful.

School starts in just a few days, and the nightmares have already begun. The Stephen King short story SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK is not a work of fiction, and none of our buses are ever completely empty.

I wish the weather widget had a tide table
I miss twitter and the way you could make a simple statement like that and Apple would pick it up and fix it

Nearly a month later, turns out #IwasWrong ! I’ve never seen yellow #roses with so much red foliage! Another week I reckon before I find out how much of a true yellow she is.
