Funny, when I work conventions is when I can feel so isolated, so many friends doing so many things at once and I might not see them all weekend, I'm so beat when I have a free moment

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Ugh, I tend not to be able to sleep for more than an hour at a time on planes, but reading makes me super sleepy, so whenever I was awake I wouldn't fight it, I would just read until I pass out lol

Eye mask makes a huge difference for me! My flight left technically 11:45pm last night. Boa sorte!

I have the same problem so i avoid games and podcasts 😭 I currently have a rotation of
- a book I've been meaning to read,
- TTRPG rulebooks, and
- a fav music mix to have something to listen to when my eyes are tired,

And I'm hoping that will push me to sleep enough to survive when I arrive 😭
