La précieuse minière canadienne Barrick fucking GOLD est dans le colimateur de la junte malienne et en vrai, c'est plutôt bien fait pour leur gueule.

I hear a lot of Western analyst downplay the economic interests in the current war in Sudan, arguing that $ is not driving it and that the UAE for example could easily do without Sudan. This is partly bcs ppl are so focused on gold as the key commodity driving the war. (1/3)

This is why the jokes about Canadians being so "kind" and so "nice" are not just foolish, but insulting. Canadian companies like Barrick Gold and Dundee are NOT nice to Africans. They have NEVER been kind to us!

Al Jazeera columnist Tafi Mhaka called on the African Union to stop being "passive" and take proactive measures to end the bloodshed in Sudan.

As we enter 2025, the fact that hopes for peace in Sudan are being pinned on mediation offer by Turkiye's President Erdogan, highlights the AU's ineptness.
Sudan’s war came to represent the worst of humanity

For our continent's tankies, as whitewashing bloodshed at home is the main goal, their main targets for harassment are typically local human rights activists and journalists. They'll lazily use the same tired terms to attack us: "traitor of the motherland," "conflict entrepreneur" "colonized," etc.
