That this dress survived for a century is impressive enough but when you take a closer look at the scalloped embellishments you realise that each of the shell like shapes is laced with rows of tiny beads suspended in shivering pearlescence,1925 gown @metcostume.bsky.social #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
