You know who formed a shadow cabinet to keep the pressure on Eisenhower about confronting communism and civil rights? Harry S. Truman. Congressional Democrats could also hold minority hearings and issue minority reports. It’s like no one remembers how to be a loyal opposition.

Grocery prices were up 0.7 percent in December, the largest one-month gain since October 2022. They were up 2.4 percent from a year ago.
