When I saw them there it was the first day of the "season" (Sept 1) a freak solar storm and we on a whim booked a boat ride into the Bay. You could see them with the sun still up, and it turned into one of the most amazing things anyone on the boat have ever seen. It was horizon to horizon Aurora.

I had basically this same setup with a TV instead of the CRT pictured. I self contracted 5 acres of corn to detassel and earn the money to pay for it. I remember a great internal debate over getting the massive 5.25" floppy drive or cassette drive. Went with the floppy.
