I know to a lot of us, this “the cities are burning” narrative is so patently ridiculous that it doesn’t seem like effective propaganda, but a lot of rural/suburban conservatives believe it.

These people believe our cities have been war zones for half a decade. This belief justifies their hate.

I moved from NYC to upstate New York in 2020 and I remember having to explain to my conservative coworkers that the city had not actually been razed that summer.

I had to explain that the city was actually more pleasant than ever to go on a lovely walk in, because of all the closed streets.

I tried this very complicated Hunan street food crispy rice sandwich recipe. It was super tasty but unable to hold sandwich form so it became crispy rice bowl instead. Still banged though.
