In honor of Memorial day, I am on the patio reading Stephen Fisher's "Sword Beach" and James R. Benn's (@jimmywriter.bsky.social) "From the Shadows". Both books come highly recommended. I'm also reading a Dungeon Crawling Carl book, but that does not fit the theme so well.
This is a picture of the 2 books mentioned in the post. They are on my patio sitting on the footrest from that set of patio furniture we bought many years ago. The chairs were crap so we sold them at a garage sale and kept the table and footrests.

With the purchase of the last 2 books, my K.J. Heritage (@kjheritage.bsky.social) collection is, far as I know, complete. Let me qualify that I did not buy his books on how to write books as I'm a reader and not a writer, so I should say, his fictional works collection is, far as I know, complete.

Shown here are the books I either received from Kat (and the cat) for Christmas (the top row), or books I bought using an Amazon gift card I was gifted for Christmas. I received some other stuff too, but these are the books that Christmas got me.

Hey @kjheritage.bsky.social and @sotisse.bsky.social, this is the squirrel offering I mentioned earlier today. I haven't a clue why it left the bread there. The date on the pic was a few days after Kat's birthday so perhaps it was a belated birthday present.
This is an interior post of my wooden stockade fence. To the left is the gate, it looks fancy and metal framed, but the damned latch keeps breaking or getting out of whack. The focus of this picture is a large chunk of bread, maybe a quarter of a large sub roll, that was left on the post by a squirrel. Also for those who cannot see, I could leave this part out and you would picture a well panted fence, but alas mine is not and is in serious need of a good painting.

This is my patio reading setup. Ignore the badly in need of a painting fence. The beautiful blue colored beverage is actually Grape flavored Gatorade. Tastes purple, looks blue. I have a goal of finishing this pile of books by the end of the month. 1 is almost done, the rest are just started.

It's another Saturday reading and putting away Xmas stuff (we're a bit behind). I got my best girl taking a nap on the couch with me and Rush playing on the sound system via Spotify. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
This little darling sleeping on a comforter is Lemmy, Jim's calico cat. You call also see a bin of Xmas ornament boxes because we are way behind in putting stuff away.

Continuing the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, I'm watching the 2nd story, "The Daleks", starting with the episode, "The Death Planet". I'm tempted to watch all of Doctor Who over the next year. Could be quite fun.

In honor of Doctor Who starting 60 years ago today, with the airing of part 1 of An Unearthly Child, I am watching this tonight.

Kat got me some 1.0 reading glasses. If you draw eyebrows and add some well styled hair, you could have a new prize for Richard Osman's House of Games. (I'm sure Ingrid Oliver (@ingridoliver100.bsky.social) is the only person I follow that will understand this, but I thought it was amusing. :) )
This is a picture of a blue box with a pair of reading glasses on it. It's really boring unless you know about the nifty prizes on Richard Osman's House of Games, all of which have similar glasses, eyebrows and well styled hair on them with a similar blue background.
