And whenever I hear anyone say Emerald Fi-nell, rather than Emerald Fenn-el (a la the plant/herb), this is the only picture I have in my head.

If we start going down this route, then is Sound of Freedom more legitimate because it made $250M? What about all these (really great!) festival darlings that make compararive buttons? Box office receipts can tell you plenty things, but quality or non-monetary value are not among them.

Great minds, fools seldom differ etc, but I thought the same thing. He's trying his best, but it didn't work for me. boxd.it/bUaGtV

Not sure I was prepared for how much I thought 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple slaps. Never has so much been said by so little happening, but I fucking loved it. I’m not surprised it’s tanking at the box office though - this & the predecessor will feel incongruous against the original’s reputation.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel Marty Supreme’s runtime a bit just before the film moved into its finale, but the energy & dizziness is palpable. On a technical and performance level it commands attention, and I may finally be starting to get Chalamet. Fuller review at @takeonecinema.net soon.

The instant print camera the wee one got as part of her Christmas has the living room looking like a noir detective’s desk in the small hours.

And so it begins! Not a review, it’s a statement by Cameron but hwfg.

Is Glen Powell wearing disguises his Tom-Cruise-running thing? Hit Man, Tye Running Man, now this. What the fuck is going on here?

This would be hilarious even if I *wasn’t* a Dundee United fan (Celtic lost to a team without a win in ten matches, despite 76% possession). The fact I am? Delicious.

You clearly didn’t read what I wrote or you wouldn’t have responded like a condescending prick to someone you don’t know. I don’t think that’s “okey dokey”, no, and I never have. It’s mental. You know nothing about me or my situation, so - with no respect, the amount you afforded me - off you fuck.

Genuinely think under certain circumstances that I’d have a panic attack if I watched You Were Never Really Here again. Don’t think I’ve ever felt so tense in a movie theatre (shoutout Screen 1 @glasgowfilmtheatre.bsky.social there).

Folks, I’d be amongst the first to call out this nonsense if it was as written in the headline, but - aside from some some mildly presumptive phrasing that I can cross check in the journal - I think we might all be falling afoul of Daily Mail rage-inducing headline clickbait here…

I said this about Tarantino six years ago on the other place, back then wasn’t the first time I thought it, and the current stooshie is unlikely to be the last.
