I've been in the kitchen all morning, cooking like a madman. This is one of my absolute favorite dishes to cook and a great fall recipe: Beef Burgundy.

Just went in the slow cooker for the next 5-6 hours. I may post an update later...

The idea of summoning and throwing a familiar was tossed out. I wanted anyone to be able to take this, maybe with a familiar or animal companion, or maybe by coordinating with their party members. I think that kind of flexibility is fun. It was starting to come together:
Another revision on this feat, when it was still called "Go For the Eyes." It reads: General Feat (Prerequisite: Level 4+) You are as smart as Boo. You gain the following benefits. • Ability Score Increase. Increases your Wisdom or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20. • Eye Strike. When an ally within 30 feet of yourself hits a creature with an attack, you can take a Reaction to give their target the Blinded condition until the end of its next turn. You Point, I Punch. When you hit a Blinded creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target. The extra damage equals your Proficiency Bonus.

Here's something I've never done — a peek behind my design process. I almost always start with the theme and work my way back to mechanics. The original idea here was Minsc's famous "Go for the Eyes!" catch phrase. I wanted to capture that flavor of fighting with Boo. This is my very first draft:

One of the coolest features of this adventure is the surgical transformations for your player characters. They roll for 3, one internal, one external, and one cosmetic. Check it out:

One of your hands can detach and scuttle about on its fingers like a spider. The hand uses the statistics of a crawling claw and obeys your verbal commands. It becomes unconscious if it moves more than 30 feet away from you. 2. Wandering Eye. One of your eyes rests at the end of a concealed stalk. As an action, you can extend the stalk up to 60 feet and curve it around corners, while still seeing through the eye. 3. Leech Skin. Tiny mouths stud your hands and arms. As an action, you can transfer vitality between yourself and a non-construct creature within 5 feet. If the creature is unwilling, it must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw to avoid the effect. Choose one: you take 1d8 damage, and the creature regains the same number of hit points, or the creature takes 1d8 damage, and you regain the same number of hit points. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. 4. Tongue Whip. Your elongated, serpentine tongue has a reach of 10 feet. As a bonus action, you can lash it toward a creature or object within reach, pulling yourself toward it or drawing it toward you. A Medium or smaller creature must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be pulled adjacent to you. 5. Grafted Surgeon Hands. Your fingertips have been replaced with surgical implements—scalpels, needles, and hooks. These crude tools function as thieves’ tools, and you have advantage on Medicine checks made to stabilize a dying creature. 6. Bolt-Crown Skull. Metal pins hammered into your skull spark faintly. You have resistance to lightning damage. As a reaction, when you become charmed, frightened, or stunned, you can take 1 lightning damage to immediately end that condition.
