Democrats are such cowards. They finally have a shred of power and influence over what this administration can do to this country, and they just throw it away. What a disgrace of a party and a leader.

Even before the election, Trans people weren't being supported by the Democrating party. Now, the most main stream Dems (e.g., Gov Newosm) are actively feeding into the hate. It won't stop here.

I had my first long winter ride in Ithaca this weekend, but I didn't make it to Taughannock Falls as I'd hoped. The hills, snow, and cold wore me out before I could make it. I still saw some beautiful views.

I had my first long winter ride in Ithaca this weekend, but I didn't make it to Taughannock Falls as I'd hoped. The hills, snow, and cold wore me out before I could make it. I still saw some beautiful views.
But as terrifying as this is, there are lessons to be had on the power of community, the inevitability of change, and our ability to shape that change through forethought and planning.
I remember how surreal and scary the first Trump administration mirrored the events of Octavia E Butler's Earthseed, but now as i reread Parable of the Talents, it is truly terrifying to see how much Trump's second admin so closely mirrors that of the fascists in the book.
