To be fair to him (and I can't believe I'm saying that), I think he was really just saying the kind of things they get up to in politics and what FG will be doing. It wasn't some dastardly plan he was enacting himself (which some people seem to be suggesting).

People feel judged and inferior when they see someone taking a stance that is clearly the correct, but difficult, one; even though that judgement is entirely in their own head. I think the vitriol against vegans from certain people comes from a similar place.
