I dunno, man. How safe can a place be where the frogs feel they have to learn kickboxing?

Certainly harder to do it without looking like they're doing it. Anyway, I'm sure certain Irish media will be happy to step in to do their work for them.

To be fair to him (and I can't believe I'm saying that), I think he was really just saying the kind of things they get up to in politics and what FG will be doing. It wasn't some dastardly plan he was enacting himself (which some people seem to be suggesting).

I'm sure the BBC will be rushing to have future Green MPs on its various shows.

Latest poll puts Greens just two points behind Labour. When I said we weren't here to be disappointed in Labour but to replace them, I meant it.

Join us and let's make hope normal again.

Today, we rejoice in the sight of children celebrating in Gaza, but we mourn for the children whose laughter we will never hear.

Doesn't change the fact that the movie was about Oppenheimer the man.
jk001-ie.bsky.social
The title may be a clue that the movie was about the main white guy.

People feel judged and inferior when they see someone taking a stance that is clearly the correct, but difficult, one; even though that judgement is entirely in their own head. I think the vitriol against vegans from certain people comes from a similar place.

For me, half of the stories have been "and what's the problem with that?"

Also, it turn ls out those ribs weren't spare. The pig needed those ribs, Philip! They weren't spare at all!

Author and filmmaker Justine Bateman on generative AI
"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian

At least this technology didn't come along at a time when journalists publish things without the slightest bit of fact-checking or verification, because that would be disastrous...

AI is a runaway train and I’d like to get off at the nearest station.

I’ll jump off and roll down a hill like they do in the movies if I have to.
