Three pairs of colourful cardinals chipping and hopping in the yard this morning. This one looks like he's contemplating deep existential thoughts while perched on the bird bath. Been there, birdo; been there. #Birds 🪶🐦

Today is Grackle Day in fhe garden, apparently. Seven on the ground, one on the rapidly-emptying feeders, 13 (!) in the trees and shrubs. What a noisy chattering group! Ms. Downy Woodpecker and various nuthatches zip in now & then to object loudly to being temporary displaced. #Birds

Yeah, but what's my life or my kids' lives compared to the risk of this poor fella feeling bullied with all his speeding tickets? Says every ticket feels like a 'gut punch'. Unlike, say, an SUV vs bike collision. 🙄

This handsome fella was enjoying a tasty afternoon snack until a tiny, cheeky Downy bullied him off the suet! Rude. Cute!, but rude. #Birds #TorontoBirding #urbanbirds 🪶

A busy day at the Porch Railing Spa today!

Some days there are more than 15 #Birds flapping around at this popular gathering spot--always sparrows but also cheeky nuthatches, cardinals, redwing blackbirds, warblers and once , memorably, 5 Bluejays so big they could barely fit! 🐦 #torontobirding

Absolutely On POINT as usual!! (But can I share another amusing item from a local hair studio in Toronto? Made me laugh right out loud. 🦫)

Agree 100%, tho' my cat disagrees emphatically, as is his brand. I'd post a pic but have non-shoebox pics. Scrabble box? Check. Box of items for food bank? Check. Hudsons Bay box (iykyk) ✔️. Even the thrillingly-shaped Ukelele Bass box! In fairness, we do find shoeboxes more useful than most pkging😅

When the blue jays visit our narrow urban yard, they do so in packs of 8 - minimum (our record is 14 all at once- what a racket!). Here's one of this morning's gang, not exactly camouflaged in the sand cherry, standing guard as his buddies clear out out feeders. 😅🐦 #birds #TorontoBirding

"Dance it out, you're hot to go / H-O-T-T-O-G-O!"
Why, yes, that's Julia Gosling with 2 in less than 2 minutes to make it 3-0 over Minnesota. Ya love to see it! @pwhlsceptres.bsky.social

Excuuuuuuse me- "too many pictures" of cats!? I see that these are English words, but I'm not familiar with them in that order. Whatever could they mean, ponders my breakfast panther. 🙀

I couldn't get a clear pic of the Baltimore Oriole + American Goldfinch duo on my feeder this morning so instead, here's a wee Cinnamon Chested Bee Eater I saw when I was in Tanzania. #birds 🪶

A beauty of a Baltimore Oriole examines the treats on offer (last spring). Now we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this year's friends!! Oranges & grape jelly (and proper, good food, too) are out , ready to welcome hungry visitors. #Birds #TorontoBirding #BackyardBirds 🪶🧡
