Who was the "leader" at Columbia in the Epstein files? Either implicit or explicitly blackmailed by Trump?

He's been shaking more hands than usual?

For a long time, I’ve wondered whether the concept of members of Congress as “representatives” of the American people ever worked.

If a "culture war" is a real thing, it seems unlikely a clear "winner" will ever emerge. However, it does seem extremely likely losers will emerge...possibly those who are declaring victory is in sight when their MAGA goals & aspirations are completely unattainable after Trump is no longer in power?

I want to know whether there was overt blackmailing going on when Trump started in on the law firms and universities last summer — Paul Weiss caved so quickly because Karp thought Trump could keep him out of the Epstein spotlight?

They spent too much money trying and failing to get Cuomo elected.

Can I just note my dismay that the times in which we live necessitate a mid-week feature?

Was he overtly blackmailed last summer?

Or report on as if it were normal.

“There’s a famous psychology experiment: One marshmallow is placed in front of a child who is told that they can eat it—or if they wait 15 min, they will get a second marshmallow & then they can eat both. As I’ve said previously, Mr. Trump is a man who always eats the first marshmallow immediately.”

LOL, but I'm sure you're right

There has been a terrorist attack — ICE terror attacking the American people.

Finally, the right people are in place and willing to seize those pesky voting machines.

Is this how we suppose his twisted thinking goes: saying that because he "won" in 2020, he doesn't even have to run in 2028? Like the next win will be "owed" to him? Yeesh.

Meaning they'll let the voter i.d. requirement slide in non-blue districts?
January 28, 2026 at 9:08 PM
Yes. That makes sense to me. And if this goes through and it's effectively implemented, voter "turnout" will undoubtedly be lower.
January 28, 2026 at 9:06 PM
Yes, straight-up voter intimidation is clearly a goal. But for clerical rules like having an "acceptable" i.d., that matches "correctly," I just don't see how that doesn't lose MAGA votes too.
January 28, 2026 at 9:05 PM
OK, if there is a way to do that. Hence, the desperate attempts to obtain voter rolls from states.
January 28, 2026 at 9:03 PM
Sure, but disenfranchising women may not be as successful as it has been in the past. Many women have learned to overcompensate for that kind of sexism, and there are no "liberal" votes to be lost among the "traditional" women who vote the way their husbands tell them to anyway.
January 28, 2026 at 9:02 PM
But doesn’t that affect everyone, no matter their party affiliation and/or how they’re planning to vote?
