With how many layoffs we’ve had over the past several years, remote work should be the default. Requiring relocation at this point is unreasonable for the risk that we’re just going to get laid off two months, six months, a year in.

True: I keep going to FF for FF7->FF12 stylised, cute colorful and fascinating world-building, but getting FF15 "let’s drive an audi" and FF16 "it’s game of thrones ! HD beheadings ! sexual violence !" instead ;_;
