Does/did anyone else’s baby sleep in the most frightening positions?

We practice safe sleep, but now that she is rolling over its her favorite sleep position combined with being oddly close to the sides of her bassinet.

When here at Goddard we hosted a Fermi interaction day: where the flight operations for the satellite and the scientists who use the data got together and shared the awesome details of their job!! 🔭🧪 so cool! some of us even got to send a hello command to fermi and have fermi talk back within secs!

I wanted to share a few upcoming direct action events you can participate in, some in DC, some national.
1) MLK day is Jan 15 2024 and DC holds an annual peace walk. mlkholidaydc.org
2) MLK's Poor People's Campaign has reignited with big plans in 2024⤵️

👋 I'm jordan, a NASA postdoctoral fellow working at NASA Goddard 🔭💫. I got my PhD from Clemson U in physics in the summer of 2022. I study high-energy astrophysics in the Milky Way Galaxy, mostly the remains of massive stellar explosions like this one ⤵️. I usually study them in the gamma-ray.

what blows my mind a lot about astro are the sizes of things we study compared to night sky. for instance if the vela supernova remnant, which is 8 degrees in diameter, were visible to the naked eye, it would span 16 full moons across the sky (that's 2 full moons per degree). can you imagine!🔭

Biden's entire campaign (again) solely around not being Trump

But they often end up looking less impressive in the gamma-ray, where I'm really interested in discovering these. This is centered on the same source shared above, circled in white and labeled B0453-685. though detected, it just looks like a blob.

I study sources like this ⬇️ (this is a multi-flux band image of a supernova remnant in the Large Magellan if Cloud taken by X-ray space telescope, Chandra)
