It's quite simple: if we have the right to protest, but not the right for protest to be disruptive, we don't have the right to protest. We live in an anti-democratic, genocide perpetuating, police state. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Really sad to hear this. Duncan brought myself and others together to work on the Stuart Christie archive at the Mayday Rooms.

A true gent. Was never the loudest in the room but always the most interesting. Not many left in the building.

I understand that the University is dying, and will eventually be replaced by some kind of new world of for profit online job training modules, but in the interregnum do we really have to endure the morbid symptoms of programs in "Leadership studies" and "Entrepreneurship"?

this is probably super obvious but bears repeating loudly and often: if you’re a trans worker in the UK, you need to join a union STAT.

the workplace is where a lot of the pressure from the Supreme Court ruling is going to hit hardest and first.

On #25April we remember the power of resistance and hope.

Liberation Day in Italy and Portugal marks two uprisings, 29 years apart, united against fascism.

We honour the power of the ordinary people who rose up - and the workers who keep fighting to protect democracy today.

Was great to chat with @medicinered.bsky.social about histories of worker self-management and the example of the Lucas Plan.

Trade unionists used to speak the language of workers' control. We need to learn that language again, and fast.

Another great pod from @medicinered.bsky.social. @jlthorne.bsky.social discusses worker self management - the Lucas Plan, and reaches conclusions congruent with our forthcoming Radical Abundance book. We must move beyond defensive struggle to propositional politics.

Big day in the office. 50+ Healthcare Assistants crash a board meeting. The Trust emailed all staff this morning. In it they tried to dupe members into accepting an inferior deal, which they are now trying to impose, with no consultation.

They should know by now that HCAs will put up a fight.

In 1910, socialist women gathered in Copenhagen and first proposed an international working women's day be established. 8 March eventually became the annual day for this event.

In recognition of International Women's Day, here is a thread of articles from our journal dedicated to communist women.
Front page of CPUSA's 'Daily Worker' (New York edition) from 8 March, 1931, with headline 'Working Women! All Out! Demonstrate March 8'
