Sounds like Bristol is different, but tbh I don’t care much. My honorary status is coming up for renewal and I have left it to the department to decide what works best for them. I am no longer writing academic pieces, so in terms of outputs, there is little more to contribute for any future REF.

No idea where it came from, but another version of that is that “we are a long time dead.” Working on Luther and Calvin and thinking they had been gone for near 500 years made me appreciate the sentiment.

Someone asked me recently why I wasn’t Emeritus. The way it was described to me was that Honorary status gave me Library access and an email, whereas Emeritus status involved me agreeing a programme of work with the University. MyOH would have taken my head off if I’d agreed to work for no pay.

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.
