Also, it needs to be shit other than creating social media content. (Which is worthwhile in the context, because it's documenting state abuses.)

This is a golden opportunity for politicians to help revive real-life third spaces generally founded upon the idea of defending democracy.

Prayer groups, book clubs, scavenger hunts, pub nights, debating clubs, knitting circles, park hangs, roller disco nights, bike trips, hiking groups, run clubs, etc.

There is absolutely no reason why politicians and civil society leaders can't be organizing these events.

Anthropic experimented with letting an AI run a little shop. It lost money, then went insane. I wrote about how the case illustrates the need for research on how the social world will be transformed by the massive increase of interactions between people and LLMs, and, crucially, between AI agents.

I don’t know who this might help but as someone who has managed depression her whole life, the absolute best thing you can do for yourself when you don’t know where to start is to move your body: whatever that looks like for you. Could be hiking a mountain. Could be gentle stretching lying in bed.
