i accomplished what i needed but curious if this approach requires I OWN the web component? I just needed to make a few UI updates based on cart changes inside a web component injected by a 3rd party (which was not formulated clearly in my og post lol)

The positive effects of your teachings will trickle down to everyone involved in this project 🙏 The goal is to edit 2-3 dozen areas inside of web components / shadow dom inserted by a 3rd party, which they provide slots for, but i needed the ability to change content on external events. much thanks!
