I have had similar experiences like this, and they make me think about my jazz experience. In jazz we talk about the theory, yes, but we spend so much of our time talking about the history of the music and the people. I've started to put more effort into science history because of that.

My condolences, David's work has helped save millions of lives in numerous ways. His impact is going to be felt for many generations to come.
