The golden hour in Autumn makes light of #Warmth that I find irresistible. This is an otherwise unremarkable small tree dressed in brilliant red foliage bathed in the glow of the sun retiring for the evening.

This, I believe, is one of my most favorite photographs.

I think I saw the #Warmth of the setting sun and was attracted to the way it treated the side of this little shed, but I'm sure it came out better than I expected.

During our week in Dublin we heard many stories of oppressive history, and a great deal of contemporary, fierce pride in culture and independence--and Guinness and Fish & Chips, of course!

Here in Dublin, two blocks from our hotel, is the art-work/memorial known as "The Spire", 400-feet high (the tip has a light), erected as a millennium project (replacing the previous monument to Lord Nelson), here shown in two parts because it IS very #Vertical.

Of all the food I've ever photographed, this #Paella surely had the largest taste-to-attractiveness ratio I've ever enjoyed.

So, anyway, in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts building, there were these floors and openings and columns that all lined up in nice ways, so here.

In this building, most visible surfaces are covered in honey-colored marble; from this POV, two floors are visible through various arches that line up. There's also a reflection of the floor from windows in the rear, and an abstract sculpture visible in the arch on the second floor ahead.

I am in a good mood this afternoon? Here's the very uninteresting reason.

My fav lap-device is an iPad, which has a lightning connector. The cable I'd been using had a defect: the grounding cap that curves around the free end of the connector broke off near the indents that hold the connector in,
This is a close-up view of an Apple "lightning" connector, as used in my iPad. It is rectangular, flat, and has 8 little contacts on each face; the entire rectangle is surrounded by a thin strip of metal.

What a sense of *almost* deja vu! I saw this related work, Glenn Ligon's "Double America" (2012) at the National Gallery of Art (Wash DC) in a show called "The Double: Identify and Difference in Art since 1900", in October 2022. It was at the entrance to the exhibition.
An art work created from electrified neon tubes, spelling "America", with "ERIC" letters individually reversed, above a not-quite mirror image below (in which the upright, reversed letters, appear as mirror images of *unreversed* letters). Wires hand down from the neon tubes to power supplies--black boxes--on the floor. It's mounted on a white, gallery wall. To the left is a partical view of the entrance to the exhibition gallery, with part of a person and art work visible.
