Let’s be clear: When it comes to Venezuela’s giant oil reserves, America’s oil companies will be making money for themselves. During the 2024 campaign they made a deal with Trump on which they’re still cashing in.

Everything is for sale.

Amid the tumult caused by one invasion with several more threatened, Trump is hoping Americans will forget about the Epstein files, which should be called the Trump Files since he is going to such great lengths to keep them hidden.

Don't let Trump distract us. Demand that the files be released!

During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

Fun factoid re #BookSky. The NYT reported today in its news quiz: As of mid-December 2025, Americans had bought 707 million print books, according to an industry tracker. That’s only 3 million fewer than the pandemic peak in 2021. Readers bought about 184 million print adult fiction books.

#MondayTip: In the contiguous U.S., Wed., Dec. 17, is the suggested mailing deadline to use our #PostalService's most affordable option -- Ground Advantage -- to get packages delivered for Christmas. Ditto if you want to use Priority Mail. So, two days to get your stuff into the mail. Got it?

My early new year's resolution* is that in 2026 everyone is going to get much better at writing, e.g., this:

What do we talk about when we talk about "the law"?

and not, e.g., this:

What do we talk about when we talk about "the law?"

I thought some folks purchasing #books for Xmas might be able to use a little #budget or #selection advice - especially those who are not already big readers. Did a little economic research, too. Enjoy.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.
