Scam alert: there's an IngramSpark impersonator at ingramsparkbookpublishers dot com. Part of a wave of publishing/ghostwriting scams from Pakistan that hijack authors looking to self-publish--they often "borrow" well-known publisher names but this one also "borrows" the real IngramSpark's logo

First flowers are out on the patch of sun orchids just behind the house at home in Corunna, NSW. These early plants are probably closer to TheIymitra peniculata (trim sun orchid) than anything else - although later plants usually show more variation, with some maybe closer to T. pauciflora #orchids

Many sea stars begin life as young fairy-like creature (called a brachiolaria) that float through the open ocean. Eventually, a small star forms within them (here in yellow). The fairy-like brachiolaria sinks under the star’s weight, and the star pops out!

A Great Blue Heron was perched on a branch over the lake - a branch that is quite popular with the large wading birds - when another Great Blue Heron flew in and chased him/her off the branch and around the lake. Guess she/he didn't want to share the good perching spot.
