"Trump won the crucial blue wall states... by 231,000 votes? So if just 116,000 voters across those three swing states – or 0.7% of the total – had switched from Trump to Harris, it is the vice-president who would have won the electoral college … and the presidency" - me for the Guardian:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false

As I report, Kash Patel's hit list includes prominent Republicans and shows his take on a so-called Deep State doesn't make sense.

I think President Biden should pardon a shit ton more people -- a bunch of marijuana convictions, but mostly preemptive pardons to take trump's retribution targets off the backs of his press and political "enemies list."

No fucks left, Joe.
Just do it.

Thank you Bluesky for letting us do breaking news again 🥺
I came onto Bluesky an hour ago, and the first two things I saw were posts providing useful context for understanding the imposition of martial law in South Korea—the exact kind of thing that Twitter used to be so useful for in a developing crisis.

John Dean says Biden should pardon literally everyone Trump vowed to target when he returns to the White House. This includes those who investigated Trump—including Robert Mueller, Jack Smith and their teams—as well as “all on Trump’s enemies list.” However, I don’t agree Biden should pardon Trump.

The Watergate figure said the president could "take the wind" out of Trump's plans for revenge and retribution with a stroke of his pen.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Former federal prosecutor Harry Litman: "But in fact, President Biden’s pardon was justified and falls within the heartland of executive clemency cases. A clear-eyed analysis of the facts, the law, and, crucially, DOJ standard practice in Hunter Biden’s case establishes this."

You could almost hear the howls of protest begin on Capitol Hill the moment President Biden announced he was granting a pardon to his son, Hunter.

This is dumb. Did Trump's pardon of Charles Kushner include anyone else? Did his pardons of Roger Stone & Paul Manafort apply to his former lawyer Michael Cohen? Pardons apply only to the individual they are meant for &, in a properly functioning system, each is considered on its merits.
