I agree with the rationale but not the impact - I think this gets sublimated into “the world scared me and we need to do more warcrimes against people that don’t look like me”

I think some type of economic shock that really hits the mid-sized/insulated by law business owners (car dealers) does it.

Same - my beloved grandmother made decorating her tree (eventually trees) such a production that it burned me out on ornaments as an adult. But buying a fresh tree and lighting it? I’m all in through those steps.
