The Vezhen that has been seized by Swedish authorities was released yesterday. Apparently, video footage from the foredeck showed a large wave sweeping over the ship as it passed out of the Gulf of Finland.

In Sweden, there are three different forces that are tasked with solving this type of mission. The Army's Special operations group SOG, the Police's National Task Force and the Navy's boarding force. Pictures respectively (2/2)

The Vezhen was boarded by the 🇸🇪 Police national task force with military helicopters before the coastguard entered the ship. Exactly where the boarding took place is not known. But probably some where south of the island Öland. The 🇸🇪police published this picture, note the 🐶 (1/2)

(2/2) In addition to the police's national task forces, the Coast Guard also co-operates with the navy's boarding force. The navy's boarding force specialises in seizing ships. In the pictures they are seen cooperating with police in the harbor of Gothenburg.

The Vezhen is anchored outside Karlskrona, the home port of the Swedish Navy (like Portsmouth or Norfolk). This area was heavily militarised during the Cold War and foreigners were not allowed in many places. It is also very close to where a Russian submarine ran aground in the 80s

No change in the ships AIS data from 🇸🇪🇩🇪🇩🇰, they are in the same position. There will be heavy weather today as the storm Bert is on its way.
What we see on AIS is probably a fraction of what we know publicly. There are certainly other assets nearby: underwater, on the surface and in the sky.

Danish and German vessels are close to the Yi Peng anchorage. The Swedish ship is a little further east.

Pure speculation on my part, but it would not surprise me if units from the naval boarding team are present on the KBV001. Here they are seen in co-operation with the Swedish Coast Guard.

Sweden are conducting training with Minigun M134 on the combat boat 90 (CB90). It’s the same boat that has been given to Ukraine (without this gun).
The M134 (in Sweden named KSP 18B) was purchased during 2023 and is now going to be implemented within the Swedish marines (amfibieregemente)
