This is the Victor Orban playbook: Have all mass media controlled by your cronies, who will only talk about what pleases the autocrat.

Over the course of the next two years, they will try to eliminate independent media as Orban did in Hungary, where all the newspapers and radio stations have been taken over by his cronies. Something similar happened in Turkey under Erdogan. WP and NYT are already surrendering.

Oh wait...

One of these quotes is real: Musk actually made this sick statement.

The other one most likely is not: Though you may have seen it before because it is very relevant now, it appears to be misattributed to Hannah Arendt.

"Don't ask the barber whether you need a haircut"

For herbal cannabis, higher potency it means less smoke is inhaled for the same effect. For cannabis sold as edibles, potency of the flowers is a non-issue as they are sold by THC dosage (e.g. 5 mg). On the black market there is no labeling and no potency regulations. How is that any better?

Their so-called security strategy did not dare name its global enemies, except for democratic Europe. The unspoken part of the 21st century Monroe doctrine that this administration espouses is to allow China to do the same in Asia and Russia in Europe (and never mind about Africa).

The Atlantic publishing a piece of regurgitated 1980s drug war propaganda against the reclassification of a relatively benign substance, whose dangers pale compared to those of alcohol, was not on my bingo card. But then, neither was Trump signing the EO that prompted this!

The USA is now Vichy America. It has surrendered to its enemies.

That will be a nice Christmas gift to his sponsors in the oil and gas industry. Again.

The difference between $1T stock market capitalization and $1.5T is $500,000,000,000. "That will easily pay for a couple of million dollar lawsuits by bereaved families" probably is what the kind of person thinks who considers empathy for your fellow human beings a flaw.

It's illegal under the 1982 UNCLOS, but it's not "piracy" because that's specifically defined as PRIVATE parties seizing ships. When a state actor does it (except in specific circumstances, such as anti-piracy), it's still illegal but you have to call it something different, like "illegal seizure".

While states are free to enforce their laws within their own territorial waters, they have very limited powers outside this (usually 12 nautical mile) zone. They can seize pirate ships or ships of a country with which they're are war or seize ships in hot pursuit, neither of which applies here.

The US can seize ships in US ports or ban them from US ports if they are involved in sanctioned activities in other countries such as Venezuela or Russia since they have jurisdiction over US ports, but they can not touch them on the high seas.
