At one point in time it made sense to run your own mail server. Over time that made less and less sense due to the cost, complexity and importance of actually doing it successfully. With AI we've speed run this gradual change and went directly to there's only five companies that can do it.

Being able to run your own AI will be exponentially harder and more expensive than running your own website, requires specialized hardware, power, cooling, completely new software stack, etc.

helm uses nsone but get.helm.sh points at azure front door which is having problems right now. DNS responses seem to be very intermittent azure.status.microsoft/en-us/status

This happened to me on a smaller scale, only a couple contributions. The wild part was I got them like 6 months after leaving the company, presumably when they found the mistake.

The way the cgroups penalize an application when they hit the limit is to pause the service, that includes in-flight requests/responses. "Throttled threads will not be able to run again until the next period when the quota is replenished." The default period is 100ms docs.kernel.org/scheduler/sc...
