Really kind of enjoying the new microscope camera we got for the holidays. Takes some great close-ups of fossil bone. I’ll probably be posting a lot of this over the course of time.

Tis the season, apparently. Just got this in the mail today. From work I got done back in August. Ever since then it’s been surprise bill after surprise bill. Just when I thought we were finished, we get this just in time for the holidays. I am beyond burnt out at this stage. Something has to give.

Went to our usual spot to collect more lignite and ochre for art and other things, and we ended up finding a most curious little shard of…something. Laying in a gravel wash near the top of a hill. Arundel Formation, Baltimore, MD.

Collecting archeological slag. Fun fact, I also love collecting slag glass and related. I’m especially particular to iron furnace slag, the older the better.
