New #MAEdu report released yesterday from Mass Inc and our Worcester research bureau, looking at what happens when you have a set up where districts get one school (and a bit) at a time, plus the underlying funding of municipalities is so uneven.
Every single time a decision about K-12 or college education is made with "career readiness" at the forefront, we are doing harm to students, our mission, and society at large.

When asked to support local candidates Friday night, @repmcgovern.bsky.social made reference to the fact he doesn’t endorse in local elections. But if there has ever been a time to reverse course on that policy- JFC now is that time.

In his reply to my husband Jim mentioned how low the voter turnout is in Worcester, & how the decline of local media has made it harder to engage the electorate. He had spoken at length about how democrats need to energize voters and give them hope if Democrats are to win control of the House.

In D2 @bilottafordistrict2.com is running against corrupt Candy Carlson, who is the champion of private developers, and Republicans in the district. She remains unapologetic for her xenophobic and transphobic language directed at fellow city councilors. @repmcgovern.bsky.social remains silent.
King is challenging Jim’s personal friend and centralist Joe Petty. Anyone paying attention knows Joe isn’t rising to any moments and needs to retire from politics. We need @repmcgovern.bsky.social to STRONGLY support King.
Jim wanted the clout of pointing out two BIPOC progressive Worcester Councilors/candidates at his forum Friday night- But has yet to endorse either of them. Or even made a peep about our municipal election.
