I can see several different justifications, misbelief that others won't mind, that everyone does it, my favorite, it's good so they'll enjoy it. but I think the real issue is that no one will say anything to apply social pressure against it.

Was he a con man? He sold racism and bigotry and delivered. If they actually regret supporting him, we don't need to do this "they didn't know" bs for them to vote right, let's not give them a pass for free.

I would like for them to as well, but I'm not going to support this narrative that they were hoodwinked victims and I'm not okay with Democrats actively rewriting history to try to make room for them. Voting blue next election does not undo their harm and I frankly don't trust them to vote blue.

They were around for the first administration.. they knew what they were voting for. They liked the bigoted, fascist, and anti woke and anti regulations the first time around and wanted more of it. Let's not pretend they made a mistake, they are the problem not the victim.
