MLX is amazing. It’s amazing what I’m able to run on even my MacBook Air, even!

Sometimes one must ponder one’s orb. Nice iPhone Air, btw.

Although, I still feel like any meaningful long-term solution will be one not dependent on any particular, specific host or server. Rather, data stored on device(s) & otherwise existing & filling itself in/repairing itself ephemerally, distributed & cached across a network.

Absolute cinema.

It’s still better than a singular centralized network having hegemonic control over your account & your data therein. Ideally, we can see a plurality of PDS hosts in the same way that we see Fediverse instances. &, there is always the option for self-hosted PDSs, as well.

Well, not from my experience. Like I said, I don't really correlate "freedom" as being an intrinsic trait of "democracy" vs. "non democracy". "Freedom" just is what it is & isn't contingent upon any one system for existence or quantity.

I've lived under a monarchy & 2 "one party" communist states. All have been more free than any Western democracy I've lived under. 🤷

I don't think there is any correlation between democracy & freedom.

The "one child policy" came about because they otherwise had a fertility rate trajectory that was unsustainable & was possibly going to result in widespread starvation. Nowadays the government is actively encouraging 3 children per family.

I don't support or believe in democracy, I don't think being democratic or not is intrinsically a merit nor some legitimizing factor. I think Chinese would consider themselves "democratic", however. & there has not been any "child policy" for a long time now.

Okay?

What US citizenship? As far as they're concerned, it doesn't exist. If one wants to assert it does, I guess one needs to make a choice. I'm certain China could absolutely could strip one's Chinese citizenship & liquidate one's social security if it came to that.
December 4, 2025 at 3:09 AM
"they simply do not recognize your other citizenship which is different" there's not much else they can do, tbf. It's not like they can demand that another country not consider an individual a citizen. I mean, I suppose they *could* demand that, but they can't enforce that. Right?
