I'm curious what compliance looks like for this. From personal experience, it seems very loose.

... can't make up for a drop in existing riders shunning the system due to safety concerns.

Other behavioral changes, in response to ICE actions, such as drop in LAUSD attendance below projection lead me to believe it's a huge factor in metro ridership declines. Like sure there may an uptick in ridership in response to new or expanded service but that...

School enrollment drops amid ICE raids. 'We just don't know what happened to them.'
Schools across Southern California are facing steeper enrollment declines as Trump immigration enforcement actions discourage or prevent students from enrolling.

I think this is a large contributing factor... bsky.app/profile/pjro...

We already know system ridership weights heavily towards lower income minority riders (especially bus). We also know ICE had not let up on raids.
LA Metro ridership heavily impacted by ICE terror
Another month of US transit data is just in, & DC's WMATA remains the fastest-growing major US transit agency, with ridership up 10% compared to last year!

King County Metro (Seattle, +7%) & SEPTA (Philly, +5.3%) have performed well, while LA Metro & NJTransit have lost riders🧵

Ahh but it's in the city of Hawthorne, sadly. And I suspect their city council is neutral to favorable.

Or more specifically, moving street services into LADOT and turning BoPW into a city department.

Had people in town so couldn't make it to their match against USC here in LA last week. I wanted to go soooo bad!

I mean, this is coming out of Metro's Extraordinary Innovation office. Metro isn't funding nor operating it.

It's perfectly fine for what it is and doesn't preclude actual public agency led transit solutions to Dodger stadium traffic.

I blame that dumb vox article for this

Part of the issue is that banks are not holding mortgages for >1yr after underwriting. They're largely in the biz of collecting fees then off loading the loans for syndication. If it's not a confirming loan requirement, there's not much incentive for a bank to change their origination process.

Yeah, people are just being reflexively anti-tech in this thread. I take then all the time in LA. I assure you, they can handle twin cities traffic just fine.

Literally yes, I take them all the time in LA. They're fine.
