Ma said, “Tom, they’ll drive you, an’ cut you down like they done to young Floyd.”

“They gonna drive me anyways. They drivin’ all our people.”

Gardens. Libraries. I write about John Steinbeck in my spare time.
anyone who doesn’t know what the word “tether” means in this context should not consider themselves adequately educated to comment on the Trump Administration.

He’s literally fallen for Jeffries’ trick, which is to gin up a debate about the slogan to distract from the fact that Jeffries intends to do precisely zero to attempt to stop Trump right now

Repeat after me: it’s not hypocrisy. They know what they are doing. It’s power.

Right. “What to do” is the real question here, not “what’s going on with him?” He’s having a medical/psychological episode and needs help of some sort.

I think a lot of people on our side like to think that when the MAGA general public learns that their leaders are hypocrites they’ll be disgusted and the movement will collapse, but it is much more likely that they all know it’s all a lie and a grift and they too can enjoy the fruits of hypocrisy.

Half co-sign. The neoliberal assumption of two men, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, not to prosecute open crimes by their respective predecessors, did much to give us fascism. Not sure about the rest.

Democrat elites are complete degenerates, they have no ideas, they are some of the laziest people on earth. They cannot be reformed, they must be replaced.

Too dense or too lazy or two convinced by popularism to articulate a bold progressive vision, but I actually think they don’t want to.

I’ve been doing a reread of Eleanor’s My Day newspaper columns, and it’s often a bit stunning how they’re both much more small c-conservative than how people communicate today, and much more boldly and unapologetically progressive. We often talk about modern Dems …

lol that “clause” does no such thing. You try retaining a lawyer to write you memo saying that robbing the local bodega is legal because of some bullshit excuse (“they overcharged my bagel!”). Come on.

I often wonder why the Democrats don’t just wholesale steal from the platform and comms of the New Deal, and then I come to my sense and remember that the Democratic Party was far more to the left in the 1930s than the one today, and it’s not even close.

I both want and do not want like 15,000 words of a gender-critical reappraisal of his oeuvre. Like, would be a fascinating read. Also, fuck that we all know what’s really been going on with that sleaze.

Bring a NYC huckster at his core, Trump knows that JPM et al are entirely out of his league. He’ll never go after them.

they are not yet prepared to do. I deeply believe we won't get out of this mess without a true accounting of how reckless and virtually collaborationist Joe Biden, and yes, Barack Obama himself, were.

Understanding this would require elite Dems to remember that the W Bush administration was the origin of this corrupt SCOTUS, which then immediately would require remembering that Obama's refusal to hold that criminal admin to account is a key moment in our slide to tyranny, and that is something...

I disagree these are inherently untruthful professions. The problem is Dems often pretend to be something they’re not. When you watch a Democrat you’re usually keenly aware you’re watching someone perform a personality they think you’ll like better than their actual selves bsky.app/profile/redb...
I think it's telling that the most likely career paths are the Armed Forces, Private Law, and Business which are all profoundly untruthful career paths - being an earnest hard-working person who speaks plainly is simply not a common way to legislature.

This is copium. The Trump v Colorado decision was garbage but he was validly elected. He’s the president. No take backs, we’re going to have to do this the hard way.

Psssh I’ve parlayed this on FanDuel.

not to, to disastrous effect. The next Dem president will have the same choice, that easy and that stark.

The PROCESS of doing it will be difficult. The decision to change the culture will not be.
