I think a lot of people on our side like to think that when the MAGA general public learns that their leaders are hypocrites they’ll be disgusted and the movement will collapse, but it is much more likely that they all know it’s all a lie and a grift and they too can enjoy the fruits of hypocrisy.

I often wonder why the Democrats don’t just wholesale steal from the platform and comms of the New Deal, and then I come to my sense and remember that the Democratic Party was far more to the left in the 1930s than the one today, and it’s not even close.

I think it's telling that the most likely career paths are the Armed Forces, Private Law, and Business which are all profoundly untruthful career paths - being an earnest hard-working person who speaks plainly is simply not a common way to legislature.
