I remember during the ACA debates having an argument with a coworker about how thought he would just get insurance when he needed it and…it doesn’t work like that? Luckily he wasn’t an elected member of congress, but still.

What’s your approach with Duckworth? My thinking is that her ‘no’ vote, without calling out Durbin and the others, is a pretty darn good indication that she’s ok with this. Otherwise put Durbin on blast, y’know?

My emails earlier on to him were more detailed. Now it’s just telling him how shameful it is that he’s selling us all out, that this will be his legacy, and that I’m disappointed I won’t get the chance to vote against him. He has power only 100 people in the country have and we get…this. Shameful.

Exactly. That’s exactly why this feels fully calculated by Schumer and other leaders despite his protestation that he’s a no vote. It’s enraging that they just accept that we’re that fucking gullible.

I’m not going to stop voting but there’s no shortage of otherwise apathetic voters out there who will surely see this as a reason to just not vote because what’s the point when stuff like this is pre-determined by feckless party leaders?

Yup. Mine, Durbin, isn’t running for reelection, but won’t just retire. He’s regularly voting for Trump’s picks AND selling out this opportunity for a pinky swear on a vote that won’t pass. All while telling us we don’t understand how the Senate works.

But they got a promise of a vote. Waiting for the polymarket odds on if the vote will even happen and if it ever gets a >0% chance of passing. 😂 😭

Friend of friend is certain the VA election was rigged because the election site hasn’t fully reflected her vote. I can’t find any indication that’s out of the ordinary for ED voting, and I can’t find any news or anyone else complaining about the same, but her and several others are convinced.

I always catch when a date picker pops up and is exactly the same style as the jquery ui date pickers I was pushing 15+ years ago. I should view source and see what the underlying version is when that happens. 😂
