When they engage in blatant, out/front accepting of bribes, then we have arrived at kleptocracy. This signals a failed state where rule of law is weak or absent, and institutions are hollowed out for personal enrichment.

I was unclear in my post. No I did not vote trump. I was just saying that all those who did should start feeling some remorse about now.

He did I sow this situation? You are over reacting. I’m just saying that when average trump voters experience first hand the effects, his bad policies will finally sink in. Those concrete cost increases, loss of American prestige, and job losses are right around the corner

Once the average trump voter loses his/her job, or has to pay double for dog food (like I did today) it will sink in finally what a failure he is. Saying “we told you so” just doesn’t make it better for me…

This administration's MO is to destroy a system (social security, universities, research institutions), tell the public that they were corrupt and never worked in the first place, and then rebuild them fully of MAGA faithful. Somehow he is trying to do that to the American economy.

He is executing the standard "authoritarian playbook" - render all independent agencies dysfunctional, gut them. And then re-create them, populated by lackeys and sycophants. Make them answer directly to the head man. Autocrats can't tolerate parts of the organization they don't control.
