This picture is from me petsitting for a friend. I was introduced to this one shortly after he was born, so he sees me as part of the family.

Lots to catch up on here since I posted last. For example, this photo is from the 4th of July, at a show I went to along with my brother.

I have been exclusively a #Nintendo guy since the Super Nintendo, and I've never missed a system since. The Switch 2 will be the first ever Nintendo console I skip. The price is only part of the reason why. See the replies for the whole story.

I've been waiting for the Nintendo Switch 2 presentation in April before deciding on any new games. That's been the case since the end of last year. In the meantime, I picked up Civilization V on sale since I've been meaning to learn one of these games, and this one should keep me busy for a while.

My car is fixed

My car is currently being serviced, so I'm immobilized until probably next week. On the plus side, the repair should be covered under warranty.

‘Starting’ is one of the longest English words which can still form a word if you keep removing one letter at a time.

Sometimes, I feel like I need coaching on how to stay engaged at family gatherings. It seems easy for most people to echo the same conversations over and over, but I want to experience new things.

Looks like that childhood Taco Bell I was lamenting finished renovations. I thought it would take months!

There's a Taco Bell in my area that has always been there since I was a kid. Now, 30 years later, it's being remodeled. End of an era.

Foot has mostly healed. That was pretty fast, considering how much it hurt at first.

Dropped something heavy on my foot at work yesterday, so I'm not fit to move around for a couple of days.

Update: The tsunami alert was canceled, so that's good.

Major tsunami warning in my area, due to arrive about 10 minutes after this posting. I live at the top of a hill, so I shouldn't have to evacuate, but I expect to be stuck at home for a while.

Ran the San Francisco Turkey Trot. I'm not a serious runner, so 37 minutes for 3 miles is actually pretty good for me.

Now that the storm has cleared up, I did another attempt to fix the roof. We'll have to wait and see if it worked this time.

Did some work on the roof to fix a leak. This after years of dealing with repair people who couldn't figure it out. The old leak is fixed, but now there's a new leak above my bed. So now I'm sleeping on the couch until the storm clears up.

Pet-sitting for a friend. These cats really like me, so they greeted me when I came over.
