I have never played in a classic dungeon crawling campaign. I’ve run large dungeons in the past but I have never done a proper megadungeon game and I feel like it’s a huge blind spot in my ttrpg repertoire.

Got to play a game of infinity yesterday, and was reminded why it’s my absolute favorite tabletop wargame. Ended up barely scraping out a win despite losing most of my troops due to a couple clutch plays in the late game.

I think jumpstart is the best format for magic the gathering. No deck building barrier to entry, relatively even power levels, super casual games. you can get a good sized playable collection of decks going for like $100. My wife and I have been playing the avatar set this way and it’s a blast

I kinda dislike the idea of collector boosters in magic but I do like that it means the scalpers basically ignore normal magic cards now so if you actually want to play the game you can. Trying to find Pokémon cards for my wife’s stocking this Christmas SUCKS though.

Because I’m too lazy to run adblockers and don’t want “personalized” ads I get SO FUCKING MANY gambling ads these days. I get that it’s because I’m a dude in my 30’s so I’m the target demo, but I can’t help but feel that this is how 12yr olds must have felt back in the old cigarette commercial days.

Olympia has some of the coolest game stores of any city I’ve been to. Moving has been weird and stressful, and trying to sell my old house is one of the worst experiences of my adult life but at least there are multiple amazing game stores here.

My house is finally going to sell. What was going to net us 50-100k in equity due to all the work we put into the house will now cost us 3k at closing. Fucking thanks to the republicans for that. Only saving grace is that the folks getting it are real people not some rental company nightmare.

I ordered some new lighter gauge strings for my guitar, back when I was playing gigs with my buddy’s in college I ran the heaviest gauge black diamond strings I could get my hands on but that’s overkill for playing on the couch these days. Pretty excited to start playing seriously again.

I’m doing some mothership prep for tonight’s game and had a pdf up in acrobat and acrobat kept trying to do AI summaries of anything I highlighted. It pissed me off enough that I’m going to go wrestle with my printer to physically print the document and probably uninstall acrobat.
