I’ll take a Baleba banger instead. Hopefully we’ll have four real defenders against Newcastle #bhafc
It feels like Brentford do everything well that we never do: take half chances, score from set pieces, score on the counter, defend properly… win ugly. It won’t happen but a 1-0 against West Ham where the ball goes in off Wieffer’s knee from a corner would be great #bhafc

It feels like Brentford do everything well that we never do: take half chances, score from set pieces, score on the counter, defend properly… win ugly. It won’t happen but a 1-0 against West Ham where the ball goes in off Wieffer’s knee from a corner would be great #bhafc

I was worried when I saw Welbeck out of the lineup but Joao Pedro was excellent today. His partnership with Rutter caused loads of problems. Saints are bad but that’s how a Brighton team with that much attacking talent should look in these types of games. Nailed the brief #bhafc

A lot of toys being thrown about on the other place because we didn’t sign a winger that wasn’t an urgent need and we flogged a few U21s. Given we added Cashin and Gomez, I’d say it’s an OK window. Even the Fergie loan I see as positive as he should get some game time to find his form #bhafc

For me, Gruda needs a loan. I’ve not seen anything to suggest he’s ready at this level and every time he starts it denies a more effective player - take your pick from Minteh, Rutter or Adingra - a chance. Gruda’s clearly talented but he looks short on confidence and physicality #bhafc

Everton’s setup was very predictable so our team should’ve been selected to make the pitch as big as possible and stretch it. Instead we spent the first 45 minutes basically attacking only down the left as Gruda only wanted to come inside which slowed the tempo. Hurzeler needs to be better #bhafc

Naive selection redeemed by bold substitutions. Enciso, Adingra and Gruda have attributes that we will need at some point but at Villa you need presence. Rutter scraps, Mitoma has nous and Minteh is a pest - the game changed when they came on #bhafc
