I can’t trust anyone in the area I live in because he knows so many people and I’m afraid they will leak my business to him. (They have). I’ve had to deal most of my social media profiles because my abusers friends would go back and tell him, I’m talking about the situation, etc.

I’ve made peace with what has happened to me but still struggle with PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. I’m paranoid that his friends or family see me in my public to follow me home so they can tell my abuser where I live.

The trial is next week and I plan to stand up tall walking into the courtroom even though his side will be filled with supporters and on my side will just be my mother and advocate.

I was also in the first year of my masters program while in court for custody, criminal and protection order trials. It was the hardest year of my life and I’m still not completely recovered.

After the assault my abuser made sure to convince everyone who knew both of us to slander my name as a mother and as a woman. The judge granted both of us custody unfortunately, so I still had to be in communication with my abuser and his family who still supports him.

after the assault I was embarrassed to go to work, into the public. I was embarrassed to talk to my friends and family.

My teeth are still in need of repair as I don’t have $15k for the surgery. My smile was so beautiful before my teeth were punched out of my face.

However that protection order does not guarantee my safety. As I’m typing all this out I’m shaking and becoming emotional.

I speak out and advocate for domestic violence because so many victims get ignored. People don’t care about what the victims go through after dealing with violent trauma.

We were not together and this was after he informed me, he had found a better woman then me who take care of him better then I could.

The upcoming trial next week is to determine if he will face jail time and so that I may be granted a permanent protection order.
