Baldwin era Gretsch was wild, I think they were getting a lot of pressure to modernize so they just started cranking out a bunch of novel designs to stay relevant. Definitely some real black sheep but I think they're pretty cool

Too many seem to interpret the function of games criticism as filling out a qualitative checklist instead of asking questions like "Why are we pulling all these resources/money/talent together for such a massive undertaking just to stay firmly within pre-established conventions"
