And one more piece of info - there was an article in IRJ (can't link as was in print) in November 2024 stating French low cost operator Kevin Speed / Illisto also wants 200m long Avelia Stream trains. So is Alstom's thinking on this a bit more advanced than we thought?

Ah. But the Avant 114, also a post-Pendolino design, has air suspension (unlike ETR675, ED250, ETR610) - stumbled across this pic on Renfe's website

The Virgin train will have five powered carriages and two unpowered trailers

But existing post-Pendolino designs are 187.4m with 7 carriages (ETR675, ETR610, ED250) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Pendolino

These have 5 26.2m carriages, and 2 28.2m carriages front and back (extra length is the nose, mostly)

To get to 200m you need 5 28m carriages, and 2 30m at front […]
