Bikes and books. Raised Christian Conservative and each side of that drove me from the other.
I recently picked up crochet and I'm having fun making hats and experimenting with stitches. But I recently realized I cannot sell anything (if i wanted to) until I get much faster. Cuz really, who would pay $70+ for a beginners beanie?

A.C. Grayling's Wittgenstein A Very Short Introduction, p. 65: "In line with this view a writer on the recent history of philosophy [...] is able to say, without feeling the need to qualify, [opinion the next six pages refute]."

Honestly, academic shade is so satisfying.

So I'm Large(tm) and for the past year I've had MKS GR-9s on my commuter. No cages, just that small platform to pedal on. I just put a set of Lamdas on, and after a quick spin around the block, they feel amazing.

On Tuesday, I went to the gym again after 45 days away; and, I gotta say, the best part of going to the gym regularly is not being sore after going to the gym.

I can barely walk.

I was thinking today that if I was going to pick three @clppng.bsky.social songs to introduce someone to them, it'd be Body and Blood, Blood of the Fang, and Wriggle.

Personal top three? All I can tell you is BotF, Wriggle, Enlacing, and their cover of Tipsy all make the cut

Went out to Graham for the Possum Pedal yesterday. It's always a fun ride, and Food Truck Championship has some amazing meals afterward.

There's a guy doing announcements over the PA at work, and I can't concentrate enough to read on my phone.

You should know I love books. Like I _love_ books. I've been enchanted with stories since the first time my parents read to me, and I've considered myself a bookworm since I learned what it meant. I would read anything and everything I could.

I know it's "light weight" but I just did 135x5 bench for the first time.

Going into the third week of an upper/lower training split at the gym, and I'm not a fan. Skipped yesterday and had to push myself to go today

Say what you will about my intelligence, but I do know not to walk in a flood plain while it's raining.

I still did it, but I know it was a bad idea

Back when I was practicing Christianity, I would frequently stay up until dawn on Easter due to the excitement of the feast. Today it's just insomnia.

Registered for a 70 mile ride and a 100 miler two and a half months later. I'll need to be at least halfway serious about training for them.

Shit.

Monday I was physically fine but mentally exhausted. Today, I have all the spoons and am a little tired.

I need to share this, though "no one cares." I got 3x5 deadlifts at 285 today.

I don't need to ride tonight to get my daily exercise; but it's 70⁰F after a week of freezing temps.

It takes me 20 min to ride from downtown to my job; but the question I haven't considered is does it take 20 min the other way? If so, then I can spend a quick 15 at the library before they close.

On page 65 of Herman's The Quadruple Object, "refreshing candor in the writings of Žižek" reads as "I can't believe someone would be that openly wrong."

I did not expect philosophy to be this entertaining.

A few months back, I heard a preacher announce "Say His name and the world listens." It stuck with me because it is such a blatantly magical idea, but if you told a Christian they'd accuse you of blasphemy

Currently working through the second Mistborn cycle. I haven't read Alloy of Law since it was released; and, after BLM, it feels like copaganda. Still a good book, but man. 📚💙

I'm not philosophically opposed to Christianity, just morally opposed to fundamentalists
